A repository deploys a workload. A workload assumes an identity. That identity reads a secret protecting a critical data asset. These relationships can turn an isolated weakness into a reachable path to business impact.
The genome models entities and relationships together with evidence and temporal validity. It can compare states rather than presenting an inventory that silently overwrites historical context.
Remember the human context.
Ownership, business importance, exceptions, compensating controls, and past security decisions belong alongside technical facts. An explanation that a service is intentionally public is useful context; it does not prove its origin is protected.
Separating normality from security prevents a learned baseline from erasing innate security knowledge. Repeated administrator access without MFA can be both normal for an organisation and unsafe.
